took place June 15 - 17 2009 in Kuopio, Finland
The keðja encounter in Kuopio took a look at dance with a special focus on children and young people as both creators of art as well as audience. From who’s starting points are we working from when bringing children and dance together?

The wider framework behind the general theme consisted of such questions as how does bodily experience and movement affect a child’s development? What role does creativity and artistic expression play in this? One concrete topic was should dance be taught at comprehensive schools.
One of the highlights of keðjaKuopio was the premiere of Corridor, a Nordic-Baltic co-production featuring young dancers from seven countries. The Corridor project was led by dance pedagogue and choreographer Isto Turpeinen.
